I mean, if you do a lousy brief but you win anyhow because the other side doesn't oppose, does that change the fact that you turned out a lousy brief? No offense, I am just making the point that everyone should do what DiMaggio said was his reason for trying his hardest in every game: produce your best work every time out simply because someone who had never seen your work before might be watching and might assume that your half-assed effort is your best.

Posted By: <b>HW</b><p>It looks like a 3 to me. I am suprised that it got a 4, especially since it was recently graded.<br /><br />The T210 Jackson definitely looks trimmed to me. I have seen a fair number of 8th series cards before and I do not recall any having the uneven wavy borders that this card (or the balance of the lot) has. In fact, the couple of Jacksons that I have seen had much larger borders than this example.<br /><br />It is interesting to note that Lipset writes that "There seems to be little question that the Series 7 cards...are the most difficult." He feels that the series 8 and 6 cards are the next most difficult. This would help explain the great rarity of the Jackson card.<br /><br />I would still love to have either of these cards in my collection, especially the Ruth.

Posted By: <b>david</b><p>having seen the old mill jackson in person the card does not looked trimmed. one of the biggest problems that grading companys have is that when they see a wavy border they automatically assume it is trimmed. a wavy border on its own is not sufficient evidence to conclude that the card is trimmed when there is no other defining characteristics of a trim job present.

Posted By: <b>leon</b><p>On the T210 Jackson I believe the hobbyists know it's not trimmed. If it was wavy with sharp corners the bid wouldn't be over 30k (after juice). The grading companies have to protect themselves from public scrutiny so even if they think something is authentic, if it doesn't look like it, they most likely will not slab it. I can't say I blame them but it still sucks. Take the '09 Obaks for instance.......regards

I do not think that it was trimmed recently to deceive anyone.<br /><br />But I do think that this group of T210's are hand cut. Maybe someone took home an uncut sheet from the factory and cut them down. Who knows, maybe the factory's cutting machine was broken and they had to resort to scissors.<br /><br />I do know that I have seen plenty of T210's, including those from the 8th series, and have always felt that they had the same cuts as T205s, T206s, etc.<br /><br />I never remember anyone hypothesizing that any T210s came with uneven cuts from the factory, ie Old Judges and 1909 Obaks.<br /><br />
