t210 old mill & t211 red sun cigarette packs
Posted By: Jon Canfield
Essentially there is no way to tell the difference between a T-206 Old Mill and a T-210. Both were produced at Factoy 2, District 25, State of Virginia and both in 1910 so there would be identical. As for the Red Sun question; I heard there was a Red Sun pack for sale at the National 2 years back. Leon took me to find it but it was gone when we got to the table. Also, the gentleman who I purchased my Broadleaf from told me he used to own a Red Sun but had sold it years earlier. So, I believe they do exist, just not easy to locate. In the 1970's, they re-made the Red Sun pack with the original grahpics. I have posted a picture of it. The original would look identical to this except it would be a slide and shell.

Posted By: Jon Canfield
Value of the Old Mill box is about $250.00 (based on recent sales). They are quite rare and one of the more desireable packs because of the ornate graphics on the box. It is very visually appealing. In the last 3 years, I have only seen 2 offered for sale, one of which I purchased. As for the guides, I do have a couple left.

Posted By: Richard Dwyer
Eric:

Sorry since the box has 1911 overprinting on it, I won't be selling it anytime soon. I believe it's a one of a kind box that no-one else has. The same goes for my Factory 42 Piedmont box. They're both 1:1, and would be both super hard to replace.

Posted By: leon
I have a slide shell with a date of 1913 on it (I believe, it's rather light). IMHO I don't think the Old Mill packs are that rare compared to some others ie...Broadleaf, Ramly, TTT, Lone Jack etc... I have seen about 10 of the old Mill boxes in the last 8 years. I don't remember how many had the overstamps on them though, and that might be what you are referring to? I don't think I recall seeing any Factory 42 packs, although I would think there's a few more out there...just like the Gypsy Queen pack I have...........later....ps..btw very cool packs you have there...

Posted By: Jon Canfield
Leon - my appoligies as I was referring to 1910/1911 packs. The one pictured above is yours - the other is from Mastro's in 2002. It is 1911 overprinted. (I don't have my own Old Mill pack readily available to scan but mine is a 1910 w/o overprinting.)
