Question about Sam Crawford Zeenut

Posted By: Adam J. Baxter

I was reading a copy of Sports West (A West Coast hobby publication) from Fall '77 last night and came across a picture of a 1918 Zeenut ID'ed as HOFer Sam Crawford. There is also a photo of another 1918 Zeenut ID'ed as Sam Crawford on the PCL 100 website. The 2005 Standard Catalog only lists Crawford having a premium value in the 1921 set. He's listed as a common for 1918. Is this an error in the SCD book or are the Crawford's pictured in Sports West/PCL 100 misidentified?

Best,
Adam

Question about Sam Crawford Zeenut

Posted By: jay behrens
My list of Major Leaguers that appeared on Zeenuts that was published in The Old Judge shows Sam Crawford being all 3 sets. It could be that 1921 is a tougher set. Mark Macrae or some other Zeenut guru would be better able to answer why the price difference exists.

Jay

Suppose you are an idiot...then suppose you are the President. Oh, wait. I'm repeating myself.

Question about Sam Crawford Zeenut

Posted By: brian p
A card for Sam Crawford, playing for the LA team, exists in the 1918, 1920, and 1921 Zeenut sets. It is an oversight if listed as a common in the SCD guide.

Brian
