I just can't tell from the crappy scans.<br /><br />Surely PSA did not slab a reprint! <img src="/images/wink.gif" height=14 width=14>

Similar to the slabbed ruth. Go to Ebay's advanced search & choose completed items. Search for Ruth 149, & you will see a couple other cards with the same stains.

Six or seven years ago a sports card shop was going out of business in my town and I knew these were valuable cards. The lady who ran the shop was selling the cards at a fraction of what they were worth. Her husband was the orginal owner of the shop and died, so she was just trying to get rid of the cards. The shop had a lot of old cards and I bought quite a few. They will be up for auction soon."<br /><br />to me, sounds like variations of the "trunk in the attic" story. <br /><br />could be real, but there are other psa 2 ruth's i'd rather take my chances on.<br />regards<br /><br />

I still honestly believe the card to be authentic and I plan on coversing with a professional grader soon. <br /> <br />Although I have a feeling of regret when I say this; I have to thank you. I cancelled the auction. I can't sell a card a claim it to be real, unless I am a hundred percent certain."<br />

Posted By: <b>Scott Forrest</b><p>This was a forgery, not a reprint - the forgeries were made from a scan of a real card, which is why most have the same stain pattern. Gath Feldman was selling them and probably made them himself. I was too cheap to shell out the $70 or so it would have cost to get one in my hands. Garth sold them as copies, emphasizing that no one could tell them from the real thing. As predicted, they are slowly finding their way back into the market as "real". This guy, or whoever he bought it from, probably got the serial number from a real ebay auction and made a fake label that looked "good" enough in a fuzzy digital picture.
