F50 / W502 blank back question
Posted By: Paul
I recently picked up a card that is in the style of the Yeunglings / Tharps / York Caramel / W502 cards, but it has a blank back. Have any of you ever come across blank back versions of these cards?

Posted By: leon
I have seen them and believe they go by "W-unc" 1931. They have the same checklist as the W502's.......cool cards for not a lot of money, relatively speaking......take care

Posted By: Paul
Thanks, but I don't think this is a 1931. My card is No. 10 Sewell. Sewell is No. 10 in the 1928 set, but not listed in the 1931 set.

Posted By: leon
Then it's a "w-unc" (if we must classify), or blank backed W502, 1928 Sewell card. Most series had some cards get out without backs on them. I have seen many...and others with different series backs on baseball cards. Quality control 80 or so years ago wasn't too good.....later
