New to the board

Posted By: mabjae
Hello everyone, I've been skulking around the board for a few weeks and finally decided to sign up. In the few weeks I've been checking out the threads I've learned more than I did in a few years of collecting on my own.
My interests are in 19th century items - pics, cards, etc. - and trying to complete the poor man's T-206; I'm a little short of half way. I started collecting when I was 7 and went for a few years, then took about 20 years off. Lucky for me, thanks to mom, I have the proverbial shoe box full of early-80s cards - probaby worth about $12 all together.
Recently, I decided to focus collecting every baseball card made for a player on the Buffalo or Rochester teams - pre-1920. So far I only have all the T-206s. So, anyone who may be able to help, or may know some obscure cards that may have slipped their way past Lew Lipsett's guide, I'd appreciate the heads up.

Joe

Posted By: leon
Welcome aboard and hang on. In reference to Lew's book it is absolutely a must for any vintage collector. Another must is the SCD 2005 Baseball Guide. There has been a lot of cards "discovered" since the Encyclopedia and Lew never got around to the 4th edition, which would have been Bakery cards etc.....good luck...
