Worst HOF plaque
Posted By: Bruce Babcock
This gets my vote for the HOF plaque least resembling the player it honors. I've cropped the photo to see if anyone can guess the indentity of this HOFer. The first correct answer wins a Biff Pocoroba rookie card.

Posted By: Bruce Babcock
We have a winner. It's Eddie Mathews, indeed. Thanks for playing. At least they spelled his name right.

Worst HOF plaque
Posted By: Greg Ecklund
Jim Bottomley
Red Faber (he looks like he's 70)
Christy Mathewson
Rube Waddell

I'm not a fan of the plaques that show a side of the face profile either (Gehringer, Heilmann, Hornsby, are a few).

Posted By: Rhys
Lloyd Waner looks like a 90 year old mummy on his plaque. He also sort of looks like the old guy from the "bitter Beer Face" commercials. His is the worst I think.

Worst HOF plaque
Posted By: John
Hey this games rigged. If you right click on the picture properties it’s labeled Eddie Mathews. Who buy the way is my all time favorite player and I agree it looks nothing like him. Wow that’s bad

Worst HOF plaque
Posted By: barrysloate
Besides bad plaques, there are error plaques, too. For example, Harry Wright's refers to the 1876 world tour, when in fact the tour was in 1874. Has anyone else found a rare plaque error?

Worst HOF plaque
Posted By: john/z28jd
For Carlton Fisk's plaque it says he caught 2229 games when in fact he caught 2226 which is a big deal because he only beat the old record by 1 game before he was given the boot so rudely by the White Sox

Worst HOF plaque
Posted By: Greg Ecklund
Stan Musial's Plaque used to say "Named on 12 All Star Teams" near the end of it. The actual number is 24, and occasionally Musial would correct this by drawing a line from the 12 and writing in "24" when signing the postcard.

The Hall has since corrected the plaque and replaced the 12 with 24, so serious collectors of signed Hall of Fame postcards should look out for the newer corrected variation and the older variations that were corrected in sharpie by Musial.
