question about postal m/o

Posted By: craig
i sent out a buisness check as payment for an ebay auction. after 30 days seller states he has not received it. after a check with the bank i verify that it is uncashed so i sent a seller a us mail postal m/o. now 45 days later, after many emails back and forth with the seller and ebay the seller still states he has hasnt received this payment either and i still havent got what i have paid for.

my questions are:

post office says it takes 60 days to verify if it has been paid, cost $3 and i have to fill out forms. does it really take that long or can i find out online somewhere?

should i send yet another payment or just scrub the transaction and take the hit in feedback and with ebay?

should i wait the 60 days and then try to complete the transaction.

the seller has a good feedback rating and has been very nice about the whole ordeal.

thanks
craig

Posted By: Tom Boblitt
that of the only two things you've sent them that they've received neither of them. Not a big proponent of the USPS but they generally do a pretty good job with first class mail, so it's odd that they didn't get either of them but also odd that neither's been cashed. Don't know about all the specifics and guess they didn't take Paypal but seems like you're sending money off to a black hole right now. Since they've been nice, and if it's something you really want, you have to try to send another one out. I don't know about the specifics with the postal m.o.

Good luck.....

Posted By: dennis
you can go to the past office and fill out the form and get the process going--i think it may take 60 days to get your money back.but can file for lost or stolen anytime.this has just happen to me also--seller claims he did not get postal money order.
