New T206 Error...

Posted By: Greg
It appears that this Dygert was on the press the moment the blue ink ran out, and only the flesh tone pink remained. Has anyone seen another like this? Is this a pink background portrait, or a half & half? I'm new HERE so any opinions would be appreciated.

Posted By: john/z28jd
I have a card just like this with the 'REL' written on front. It was soaked out of a scrapbook and probably whatever they used either to get it out or to originally put it in,took the color out of the photo and left it a pinkish color.

The only reason i bought mine was the price which was 7 bucks and it had a tolstoi back and i thought it was pretty cool as the blue that was missing was in the players hat and you could see his hairline which is usually not visible under the cap.It actually looked like they added the hat on at the last second because why else would they draw in the hair when it wouldnt be seen originally

Posted By: Mark
several months ago, someone sold a bunch of cards similar to this on ebay. Most of them had writing on the front as well. I agree that the loss of color was due to whatever they used to remove it from the album. I suspect your card came from this group. It isn't a legitimate printing error.

Posted By: Greg
Why did the "soaking" not affect the head on this card? Is the blue ink susceptible to solvents and easy to remove? The back shows no signs of uneven coloration either. This card did come from that group I think from Minnesota?
Greg
