LEON - A Western Playground possibility?????
Posted By: Scott Elkins
I know you would love to see the set remain intact. However, a few other board members and myself would love to own a copy or two. I especially like the Mohler (with the satchel full of money) - Harkenss is neat too with the one-handed swing! In fact, they are all nice! From a collector's point of view, the set will be together in the 1st Issue of "Old Cardboard", but a lot of collectors could have an example if you sold them seperately. Anyway, if you decided to "break" the set, you know it might be a little more of a hassle, but you should also know there should be more $$$ doing this.

If you decide to break it, I know I would buy at least one, if not a couple! I am also certain other board members would love to have an example or two, or three, or four.......

Posted By: MarkMarvelli
Seems like Scott is on to something. Selling it intact makes only two people happy (you and the buyer), while splitting it up makes so many of the type carders happy. Leon, being a typecarder yourself, you realize the importance of spreading the vintage orgasm around. I say, keep the masses fed.

Posted By: MarkMarvelli
Leon

I dont think you could find forty people in one room to agree to what day it is, let alone join a Western Playground movement!
I would think that the joy of selling each and every card on its own unique merit would be a divine service to the card collecting community. Sets are boring, long live the type card!

mjm.rmb

LEON - A Western Playground possibility?????
Posted By: David Smith
For whatever it is worth, I vote for keeping rare sets together.

This way, if individual cards come up, other people can decide whether they want to buy them or not. More importantly though, if an individual card comes up and a complete set is known and the owner is known, people can ask the owner about that certain card instead of e mailing 40 people trying to find the person who has that exact same card.

I hope that made sense.
