Ebay official time
Posted By: Dave
I've often wondered about this, but always tested it in the following way:

I watch a particular item that I'm interested in. I also watch the clock in my task bar - lower left.

When I see a change of the minute on my PC, I hit refresh. The time remaining and the end time on ebay tell me how close my PC time is to ebay's time. It seems that I'm about 2 seconds off. I don't know if I did something special to get that close, but I have synchronized with NIST (offical US clock) at the following site:

http://nist.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Pacific/d/-8/java

This is for the Pacific time zone, it can be adjusted for others. I think this is really close to ebay time.

Dave
|
