Hal Chase auto?
Posted By: Ray
2 questions if i may:

1. How much might I expect to pay for a Hal Chase autograph? Does the price differ if its on a cancelled check, index card or tobacco card?

2. If the price is somewhat reasonable, anyone know where I might be able to pick one up?

Thanks,
Ray

Once in a while a letter surfaces sometimes with a signed envelope-look at the auction houses of Hunts, Mastronet, Lelands etc. Also Mike Gutierrez or Rich Albersheim. As to price, a guess would be 1,000-1,500.

Posted By: MW
Hal Chase died in 1947 so authentic examples of his autograph are pretty difficult to locate. I would say that index cards would start at about $1000 and signed photos at $5000 or more (I know of only one). I have not seen any examples of signed checks so I do not know what they would be priced at. Below I have included examples of an authentic signed photograph (from Silagi collection, PSA/DNA certified) and a signature from a letter -- both dated from 1942.

Posted By: kevin pope
There's a Hal Chase for sale at the current Albersheim's auction. It started at $500, not sure what it is at now. I have a Chase, from the 40's and it is on a 3x5 card. The typical Chase signature I have seen is from the 40's with his return address from California written in his hand. I haven't seen a signature of his from his playing days. A 3x5, cut might start at $750 up to $1200, and a signed photo for much more. Good Luck.
