October 22nd Auction

Posted By: Scott Elkins
That's good for people like myself who only collect 20th Century cards! But don't bid on them - especially the few I have my eyes on! Great auction once again Seth - look forward to all your auctions! One GREAT thing I can say for Seth is that he doesn't "shill" the bids up to your max on the last night. BOTH lots I won in his last auction went way under my max bids!!!! I LOVE HONESTY LIKE THAT - it seems hard to find these days in auctions!!!!!!!

Posted By: warshawlaw
I don't collect 19th century baseball either. There's just something about the era that doesn't inspire me...perhaps the feeling that records were inflated by various rules and habits of the era, or perhaps the degree of on field cheating (e.g., the Orioles). I tend to see the '20s as the golden age of baseball. Or maybe it is something as simple as having motion pictures of the players of the later eras.

of course, it could just be that I fell in with a bad crowd as a youth, those terrible T206 collectors
