Its pretty cool to see people that sell and buy baseball cards then something really strange happens. you want to bid on something but then something seems fishy.

yuo check out the auction and see that the hi bidder has a few feedbacks and the person that left that hi bidder the most feedback is no longer a registered user.

http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=hairdog11

Then you look and see that the hi bidder purchased merchandise from people that sell moto gear on ebay motors. you then look at the person that left the guy most of his feedback and you notice that 3 (different) out of the last 10 people that left that person feed back are no longer registered users.

http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=vintagechoicecar ds

Just for grins you look at the seller of this cool thing you wanna buy becuase you feel uneasy. You see the person seems legit because all of the past purchases were pretty much baseball cards. then you notice that one and only one of the purchases out of all of their ebay buys is for moto gear.

I wanted to bid on this baseball card but then i have a bad feeling that the person may be shill bidding. am I jumping to conclusions here? Do you think I ought to give this guy a chance?

heres the moto item purchased -
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7923139411&category=34 353

heres teh item i wanted to buy -

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5127821607&ssPage Name=STRK:MEBI:IT

Posted By: Judge Dred
That was an interesting observation. After reading the post I did a search on lots bid on by HAIRDOG11 and found that the bidder has only recently bid on lots by the seller called 340969. The lots include T205, C46 and N172 cards. Oddly enough this bidder only bids on N172 cards sold by this seller. That doesn't really prove anything except the bidder only likes Old Judge cards from this seller and no other seller.

I guess it should only matter to the high bidder of the three N172 auctions that have just ended in which HAIRDOG11 was underbidder. HAIRDOG11 did happen to win one of the four Old Judges sold by 340969 this evening.

In any case, an interesting observation that hasn't proved anything.

Posted By: Jay Miller
You are driving yourself, and anyone reading your post, crazy. Bid what you are willing to pay for the card and no more. Go away and come back after the auction is over and see if you won. Follow that strategy and the damage that shill bidders (if they exist) do to you will be minimal.

Posted By: Jememy B
It does look like the haridog11 bidder is jacking up the auction prices for this ebay seller. i thought people would like to know this beacuse then they wouldnt bid on this sellers future auctions and that might send a message to the seller. It really sucks when people do this on ebay and i think its a disservice to just ignore it.
