1906 Sporting Life (W601) portfolio cover
 

Posted By: <b>Mark</b><p>I have available a 1906 Sporting Life portfolio cover that once housed a complete set of 24 W601 Sporting Life composite team photos. It is rather large, measuring 13.5 inches by 14.5 inches, and is dark red in color. It unfolds to twice the size to include the back cover. <br /><br />On the front cover is printed the following:<br /><br />Sporting Life's portfolio of Base Ball Players for 1906<br />Base Ball Champions<br />Major and Minor Leagues<br />Also all National and American League Teams of 1905<br />1906 Sporting Life Publishing Company<br />Philadelphia<br /><br />There are three small holes punched on the left border, where I assume it was once tied together to hold in the composites. There is also a picture of a player on the front, though I am not able to identify him. He looks familiar, but I can't quite figure it out.<br /><br />A very interesting item, but outside the parameters of what I collect. So, if interested, make me an offer. It is, obviously, too large to scan, though I could probably scan portions. <br /><br />Would be a nice pickup for anyone who collects this issue.
