1926 Zeenut Earl Averill Rookie still available

Posted By: Brian McQueen
I'm somewhat hesitant to part with this lot as it's a great group, but I've never been able to find time to properly educate myself on these so I'm hoping to find someone who will appreciate this group and enjoy owning them. It's a terrific starter's lot for a beginning collector interested in Zeenuts. I've listed every card out below - there is at least one card for most years in the 1911-1933 range. Scans of most of these can be seen at http://www.freewebs.com/ajbaxter/index.htm. Please note that many of the cards are in very rough condition, especially those from the later years. Many of the earlier issues are nicer however.

The highlights include a nice 1926 Zeenuts Earl Averill (G/VG) for sale (pictured). This is the rookie card of Averill and would look good in any "Rookie" card collection. There are two other Hofers Lombardi & Gomez (both very rough) and a few PCL stars/popular cards in the lot. The following cards to my knowledge that are popular or may carry premiums are:

1915 Halla
1920 Bromley (light cap variation), Brick Eldred
1923 Smead Jolly
1924 Charlie Root
1925 Duffy Lewis
1927 Smead Jolly, Buddy Ryan, Evar Swanson
1929 Tony Freitas, Truck Hannah, Leroy Mahaffey, Johnson (mgr)

I'm also including a copy of Jim Horne's book covering these issues. The book contains terrific pictures, checklists and a large amount of info necessary to become acclimated with these cards. I've included copies of several other articles from Don McPherson, Dave Houser and others as well. I'm looking to trade first and foremost and am interested in e103s, e90-3s, m116s and e253 Oxfords. I'll also consider cash lots for the group and would be looking for at least $800-$850. Thanks in advance.....

1911
Nourse

1912
Fanning

1913
Cartwright, Ness

1914
Loomis, McDonald

1915
Fanning, MeLoan, Halla (SGC 20)

1917
Maggert, Penelli, Ellis

1918
Chappell

1919
Church

1920
Anfinson, Cunningham, Dumovich, Eldred, Ginglardi, Keating, Jenkins, Killefer, Lambert, Larkin, Love, Bromley, McHenry, McQuaid, Mitze, Maggart, G. Posted By: Brian McQueen

Still have this card available if anyone is interested. The rest of the group has sold. Very difficult card to obtain and it is in a very presentable GD/VG condition. I'd be interested in trades for extra caramels any of you may have lying around...especially e96s, e95s, e103s, e90-3s, m116 blues, e253s, e98s or e93s.

Or I would just sell it outright for $325.

-Brian
redmaccie@hotmail.com
