Figural Trophy Help
Posted By: Ricky
About a year ago I bought this trophy/award at a flea market in Southern California. It doesn't have any dating or etching other than it says Murray Co. I'm assuming that Murray Co maybe means the company or the county, but not too sure though. This figural trophy features a player sliding into a catcher and is very heavy (brass?). Has anyone else seen an award like this or is it a door stop? I honestly have no clue and the guy who I bought it from said that he rescued it from the dump. From the uniforms/equipment I'd say 30's-40's. Any thoughts? Dates?

Figural Trophy Help
Posted By: Mike H
I've never seen another in 20 plus years. I doubt it's a doorstop. Someone put some time into it and probably put it on a desk. It's made of component parts as a custom job from a trophy shop and probably dates to the 40s-50s. What are the dimensions?

Very nice piece that would do well on ebay. Thank you very much for posting.

Figural Trophy Help
Posted By: Anonymous
Thanks guys. There are no markings on this piece. Only the Murray CO lettering. It is 9" wide. 5" deep and from the bottom to the top of the catcher's hat, it's 9". It is one heavy sucker! I call it the car battery trophy. Haha! Any thoughts on a value?

Figural Trophy Help
Posted By: Anonymous
I agree with the value as well-Is it possible that the top piece comes off in any way? I feel it was made from various components that may not be related(ie the side panel vs. the top)
