What Should I do With This?

Posted By: Brock G.
This came today and needless to say, arrived broken. Its a Babe Ruth statue dated 1988 and signed "Rudolf" and #d 69/2500. Its made of heavy chalkware and stands about 14". I paid $80 for it and it is insured. My question is whether I should keep it and have it repaired or file a claim and get my money back? Its really cool looking and its a damn shame it wasn't packed better. I knew as soon as I saw the size of the box it wasn't going to be pretty.

I've never had to take the insurance route before and really dont even know how it works. So what do you guys think? Is it worth having repaired?

I guess I should have attatched the pictures:

[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]

Posted By: Mark
Same advice as Dan...

Even if they fix it well, the cracks will always eat away at you (and it will never be quite the same...) Plus the repair could cost you half of what you originally paid for it... probably a bad investment, unless you really LOVE this piece.
