New Discovery ? Earliest Adult Baseball Fiction
Posted By: Jason Mishelow
I came accros this book quite by accident during ebay searches. It is titled The Tim Bunker Papers or Yankee Farming. Published in 1868, the book is a collection of fictional letters offering some home spun advice on a number of topics. Th following pages are the baseball section which deals with betting, expense of baseball and a general distain for those who play. While there are a couple fo earlier children's fiction titles I cannot think of an earlier work aimed at adults. In any event fun reading. I have only been able to get the first page of the section posted, but the remaining 3 pages go on in a similar vain about the evils of baseball - will try to post the rest later

New Discovery ? Earliest Adult Baseball Fiction
Posted By: barrysloate
All early baseball fiction I know of was written for a young audience, so this very possibly could be the earliest adult fiction.
