National Vicinity - Where's the best antiques stores/fleas in Chicago?
Posted By: CarltonHendricks
I'm heading to the National in Rosemont IL next week...Can anyone tell me of some good antiques malls/stores, flea markets, and antiques shows in the Chicago/Rosemont area? Also ones in the Milwaukie area too, as I might make a side trip there. Thanks -Carlton

Posted By: davidcycleback
The best antique stores may be along the drive between Chicago and Milwaukee. When I lived in the Upper Midwest, many of the quality antique stores were in the small towns.

If you're looking for side trip, Madison WI is a fine city, home of one of the more beautiful college campuses and state capital buildings, nice downtown, lots of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture (he was from Southern WI) and I'm sure an antique store or two. The downtown is geographically unusual in that it is built on a thin isthmus between two scenic lakes. One lake has the university campus, the other lake the Frank Lloyd Wright civic center and inbetween are the capital and downtown. At the center of the isthmus it's about a fifteen minute walk across.

National Vicinity - Where's the best antiques stores/fleas in Chicago?
Posted By: Joseph
I wouldn't make a special trip for this place...but if you you happen to be near Wrigley Field--the Cubs ARE home that weekend--there's a wonderful collectibles shop a couple of blocks from the ballpark in the 1100 block of West Addison called "Yesterday". The place has been there for decades and is crammed with stuff like old issues of Life Magazine, movie memorabilia, and, yes, sports stuff. This place was GREAT 20 years ago, but as they say, it ain't what it used to be....but still worth a stop-by if you are in "the neighborhood of baseball"
