Really nice set

Posted By: warshawlaw
I picked up most of the set of 1961 Golden Press for under $25. The images are really nice. They are colored BW photos with accurate (mostly) team colors and good poses or action shots. If you can find them cheaply (the whole set only books at $125 in nm), they are a nice tangential pick-up for a vintage collection. The Speaker, Bender, McGraw, Lajoie, Mathewson and Johnson are especially nice. Also has a lot of action shots. Unlike the Fleer issues, it doesn't use a lot of "old man" photos. They are really difficult condition-wise because they were punched out of a book.

I also got some of the 1970's Kelloggs 3-D ATG set. Also very nice images of vintage ballplayers.

Its great to see a post on this set. Honestly I spent hours looking at them 1961 Golden press was my beginning...Thanks War
