1910 Clement Bros. Question

Posted By: Andy Baran
Does anyone on the board own a 1910 Clement Bros Ty Cobb? I'm not necessarily looking to buy one, but I'd love to see the image. If you have a scan, could you please post it. Thanks.

Andy

1910 Clement Bros. Question

Posted By: leon
I know I can find one in a Mastro catalogue from way back if no one else comes up with one. I believe it is a rudimentary (sp?) side batting view....it will take looking through about 25 catalogues but I am sure I can find it..lmk.....later

1910 Clement Bros. Question

Posted By: Paul
I remember seeing it in that same Mastro catalog several years ago. It was the same as the E-90-1 batting side view pose.

1910 Clement Bros. Question

Posted By: Andy Baran
If it is the E90-1 pose, is it the actual photograph that was used for the E90-1 card? I thought that all Clement Bros were black & white photos (like E107's), and the E90-1 Cobb does not bare a strong resemblance to Cobb.

1910 Clement Bros. Question

Posted By: Paul
Pretty sure. The picture in the old Mastro catalog was in color. I believe I asked them about this at the time and was told that the minor leaguers are black and white and the major league players are in color. Or this may have been mentioned in the catalog. I do know that since that auction I have always assumed the minor leaguers are black and white and the major leaguers are in color.

Paul

1910 Clement Bros. Question

Posted By: Scott Elkins
Black & White - I was one of the underbidders on that lot. Should have went higher, but wanted a couple other lots more at the time. The card was lower grade - an SGC 20 or 30 (can't remember exactly, though I do have the catalog somewhere). Must be really rare - only one I have ever seen!

1910 Clement Bros. Question

Posted By: Andy Baran
The Mastro Catalog actually says there are 2 Cobb poses in the set. I'm guessing that the other one is probably a b&w version of the E102 card.
