help needed identifying piersall card
Posted By: jamie
This is a long shot but I'm trying to identify a card for my father.

In the early 50's, he went to a promotion at a local grocery chain in Rhode Island (All Mark maybe?) for a chocolate syrup. Jimmy Piersall was signing autographs on this card- it featured Piersall in a batting stance, black and white, blank back, with a small logo for the syrup in the corner.

I've looked all over the web, Ebay, and Beckett's price guides to no avail

help needed identifying piersall card
Posted By: Bob Lemke
Piersall appears on more than a handful of grocery-product cards circa 1955. We've had Cain's mayo and potato chips, Neptune Sardines and Colonial Meats listed in the Standard Catalog previously and the 2005 book will have a listing for Coffee Time Syrup, though a different pose than you describe. One or the other of these show up a couple of times a year on eBay. We list them about $50-60 each in NM. Hope this helps.
