baseball-almanac .com needs support

Posted By: BillyB
I had emailed the webmaster of baseball-almanac.com with a question about a problem I discovered. He very politely replied to my concern, and at the bottom of his reply he added the below which I thought might be something other users of the site might want to know.
-------------

Off-Topic Note: Support Baseball Almanac's efforts to preserve the history of our national pastime. PLEASE send a donation to the address below. The Almanac "family" costs more than $1,000 per month to operate and it needs your assistance. ANYTHING you can send will be very helpful & greatly appreciated:

Baseball Almanac
11400 SW 40th Terrace
Miami, FL 33165-4605

PayPal donations are possible and welcome as well.
Use: mlbfan@baseball-almanac.com.
If you would like to sponsor a player page that too is available and it’s a very inexpensive way to show your support, advertise your site, or simply put up a message of your own on your favorite player. First, look up any player in history (click the link). If the page is available, near the top you will see a link that says "Click here to sponsor this page" and visiting that page will provide complete details.

Take care & thanks again,

Sean Holtz, Webmaster
Posted By: jay behrens
They have a nice site, but I prefer basbeall-reference.com and sponsor a number of pages over there. A number of other board members also support pages on BR.com. I think b-a might be a late comer to the game, so to speak, and will have a harder time getting people to sponor their pages.

Jay

Posted By: hankron
Both sites are nice, and worthy of donations. I used to try and get donations for my endevers and realized that would never work out. I learned to do what interests me and forget about money, as it won't be coming. And I'm happier for it.

From what I've been told, when someone pays you a salary, he often expects you to do what he wants. I've never seen the appeal to that proposition.
