Posted By: <b>TBob</b><p>Pretty darn tough, but if you asked Tim N. the keeper of the flame on T207 stats and rarities, he'd tell you that it is not as rare WITHIN THE RARE SUBSET OF TOUGH BACKS as people think. Ward Miller is much tougher. If you subtract out the "Cuban factor" on Almedia and Marsans and the "Black Sox factor" on Weaver, you might be surprised that Mike Donlin and Messrs. Sweeney and Downey are tougher to find than LL. I hope I didn't let any cats out of the bag for T207 collectors with that remark...<BR>It IS a beautiful card, though, and if you can ever find a nice one which isn't centered 10-90 or 90-10, you have a gem...

I've done the same with T222's for a while and even with a fraction of that total, it's tough to keep up.<BR><BR>I thought what his numbers showed is that there is no appreciable difference in difficulty in the T207 set between the Big 3, Ham Hyatt, Morrie Rath, Mike Donlin, or any of the other Anonymous/Broadleaf/Cycle backs. They're all very, very tough and picking one over another is hairsplitting. Old Lewis Lowdermilk's just one of the gang.

Posted By: <b>Tim Newcomb</b><p>Well, if the next issue of VCBC ever comes out, everyone can see the complete results of the survey.<BR><BR>I would amend Bill's comment that "there is no appreciable difference in difficulty in the T207 set between the Big 3, Ham Hyatt, Morrie Rath, Mike Donlin, or any of the other Anonymous/Broadleaf/Cycle backs."<BR><BR>In fact I found that about half of the Anon/ Broadleaf/Cycle back cards are notably less scarce than others. I would put Lowdermilk in the more common group.<BR><BR>There are about 20 that would be hairsplitting to distinguish among. VERY scarce. Ward Miller and Irv Lewis are two of these. <BR><BR>But I found little to no evidence justifying the vastly greater "book" prices of these three cards relative to 15-20 other T207s.<BR><BR>Regards,<BR><BR>Tim

Posted By: <b>Nickinvegas</b><p>I have seen several Lowdermilk cards for sale, while I have seen only two(both sold by me) of the T207 Almeida for sale/auction. I collect this player and I dedicate some time most days looking for his T207 card and I never find it. I believe Almeida should be considered in the top three tough cards from this set.
