Name that Card, Version 3.0
Posted By: brian p
My dastardly attempt to stump you people perhaps got buried under a silky barrage of purple and lavender in the other thread. I will post the mystery card again, and if in a few days that indifference level is deafening, will reveal almost the whole card.

Posted By: Julie
there's too much lavender and purple in it!

No it's the guy's turn who posted the card; he guessed my Dougherty T206.

Posted By: jay behrens
Julie, the way the game works is that a mystery card is posted. The person that answers correctly posts the next mystery card. Runscott correctly guess my card and was up next. Scott has yet to post his mystery card. We can't have people just jumping posting mystery cards, otherwise you end up 20 people posting a mystery card.

Jay

Name that Card, Version 3.0
Posted By: brian p
...however I think Julie quite rightly capitalized on the power vacuum that was created when runscott did not post his card (he had a couple of weeks). Perhaps the ruling powers should consider a time limit upon those who are enthrusted upon to post a new scan...maybe a week? At the end of that time, if the chosen one has not proven himself worthy of the crown, then I suggest we nominate Julie to assume the scepter and keep the competition afloat.

Anyways, no one was going to guess my card (and I'm not telling what it is).

Brian (Long Live the King!)

Name that Card, Version 3.0
Posted By: Julie
so I posted something. I didn't mean to usurp. I'd give your card a bit longer--how about a hint? It looks strange, as if it were a photo of more than one player. Is it multiple players?
|
Name that Card, Version 3.0
Posted By: brian p
...so I will return for a little more benevolent despotism and give my worthy subjects (or at least Julie, my Queen) a couple of hints. The card comes from a fairly uncommon set, and pictures a HOF player. It only pictures this player, and the card itself falls within normal card dimensions. I will give further hints if necessary later.

Brian (the usurper)

Posted By: brian p
I knew that the Uncle Jack was going to stump people, but I didn't realize how little interest in thirties cards you guys have. In my opinion, the vintage baseball card world timeline doesn't stop with the Black Sox players...there are great cards in the twenties and thirties too. So carry on with the guessing game, and may someone take away my thorny crown.

Brian
