Posted By: Julie
Lew Lipset once sold me a blank-backed Ruth (S.N.) and said it was the 1916. Much later, I asked him how he knew, and he said he got in in a bunch of cards which had different-pose cards among them, and those WERE 1916.

Posted By: fkw
Its easy, Both sets are 1916, thats the way they are listed now in catalogs. The real question..... is it a M101-4 or M101-5, thats where you need to compare the number and even then there is a good number of players that have the same number in both sets, so on some cards you'll never know.
