And third, the seller can almost guarantee that without a picture, this card won't sell. Maybe I'm overly suspicious, but I'm just a little wary of people who can sell 20k cards but can't afford a scanner so that they can throw up a pic for potential bidders. If I had a card for sale even worth a quarter of what this guy's asking, I'd have pictures all over the place.

Overestimating the value is a common malady for beginners, especially for those who have read the stories about the $1 million Honus Wagner, $3 million McGwire 70HR Ball or watch the Antiques Road Show. With a minimum of $20,000 (plus reserve) it's a harmless auction, as it's unlikely that anyone would place a bid.
