EBAY Is A Joke

Posted By: RBCraik
I am sick of AAA flooding Pre-1930 with postings of magazine clippings. I have complained to Ebay and only get non responsive automated replys. Clearly not trading cards. Any suggestions how to make this Yak go away? Also have to note the significant number of obviously reprint CJ's up this week (with a story about his uncles estate blah blah blah...) Oh the horror. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2736916383&category=31 719

Posted By: Hankron
Sadly, Bob, I don't think there can be much to anything done about the AAA/Liberty for all items. I bet thirty different people (including myself) have tried their darndest to have those items removed/banned/switched to other catogory/other, but to no avail.

Again, my simple rule of thumb for all beginning collectors is to avoid private ebay auctions. If beginning collectors follow this simplest of rules, they would automatically avoid 90% of eBay scams, including AAA/Libertyforall along with many 'PRO plus PSA' scams.

Posted By: Ben
"For the last time, these are not reprints and I assume that you are one of the many that have tried to buy these from me under that tabel away from ebay? Please do not bother me again as I keep reporting all letters such as this to ebay as it is illegial dealing. My Uncle died at 89 and he was an avid collector, no whit paper no dot matrix the scary issue to people like you is that I have superior grade cards that I have varified by a sound and reputable dealer here in Indiana. I have sold almost 200 of these, obviously not fakes."

HUH?

Posted By: jay behrens
The funny thing is that his 89 year old uncle had these cards. That means he was born in 1914, 1913 earliest, which means he a whole 1 year old when he was collecting the cards.

Jay

Posted By: Hankron
What I find rather funny is that, while describing their authenticity, he says that he has closely examined the Cracker Jacks with a strong magnifying glass and they don't have the 'matrix dot pattern of modern cards.' It's funny because, unless his magnifying glass is broken or he's holding it backwards, he would see that they do have the dot pattern of modern cards.

In the end, it's a pathetic (and humerous) attemt that brings back memories of the legendary 'blue-eyed Honus Wagner.'

Posted By: Jon
Hello Everyone... I did some checking on this seller and I believe he is as dirty as all the eBay jerks. I am pretty sure this guy also goes by the eBay ID evy4. If you look on evy4's auctions he has bid on, you will find that over the last 2 months, he has purchased almost every fake this seller is now selling... check it out for yourself!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2734889356&category=26 362

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2735213617&category=26 362

Posted By: Hankron
Irrelevent to the their fakiness, it suprises me that someone would bid that much on a card that is cropped off by the scan/digital image. It's not as if a Cracker Jack is like a T3 or BB Magazine Premium and won't fit in on the scanning bed.

Posted By: botn
I contacted the seller twice and got no reply. I then went to my Power Seller Rep who has placed this with Trust and Safety. Rarely do they do anything about these types of scams but there is a better chance going this route than any other.

Greg
