Trimmed Cards

Posted By: Lee Behrens
I was just curious if any one happened to keep track of the T206 trimmed cards Lots that Sportscards Plus offered last year. Who bought these lots? I now they were very nice trimmed cards and even Sportscards Plus said it was tough to tell the cards were trimmed.

With all the problems that seem to be associated wit hdugoutman's cards is it possible that some of his cards came from the Sportscards Plus lots.

Just Curious

Lee

Posted By: B Kaz
Lee, I assume you are referring to dugoutman on Ebay correct? I am awaiting a McQuilland in "NM+" condition (his scale). Is measuring the card the easiest way to determine trimming, or just comparing it to known unaltered 206's, or both? He apparently shipped the card Friday, after nearly two weeks (paid w/ MO). I started a thread on this guy a few weeks ago, and heard some interesting stories. Hopefully it isn't trimmed.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=31719&item=2717530 439&rd=1

Posted By: Nick
Lee,
I mentioned on the last thread about Dugoutmans "Near Mint to Mint", "Yes the corners really are that nice" T206 cards. I bought a few and when I recieved them I felt they were closer to Ex-ExMint. I am often times a tough grader so I sent them to PSA.

They came back "6" Exmint.
One example is PSA "90190250". I think PSA posts pictures. Otherwise, you will see them soon on Ebay.

I should have left more appropriate feedback. I just fear retaliation.

Nick

I feel it is better to let other potential buyers know what the seller is up to.

The ding-a-ling "sweet caporalone" has changed his postage policy since I left a negative for him.

I think I have left 5 negatives and 3 of them eventually got kicked off ebay. The other 2 struck back but I don't feel I am any worse for the negatives. I do know that "sweetcaporalone" has been hurt dearly for his transgressions.

It is the best way to let other potential buyers now the potential of the seller.

Trimmed Cards

Posted By: B Kaz
I finally received my McQuillan (NM+) in the mail yesterday, and beyond a very small light stain in the lower right corner it appears to be a very nice card. The colors are better than what the scan depicted. Still, I would only grade it at EX/NM. I am planning on sending it to SGC and see what I get back. I am satisfied enough to leave positive feedback.

Regarding your question on the trimmed cards...the McQuillan is definitely not trimmed, and in fact he sent a bonus t206 filler card that is in outstanding shape, but is obviously trimmed at top and bottom. A very nice card nonetheless. He didn't have to do this, but I did appreciate it.
