I therefore am suspicious of any because the reprints all have that larger gap, and of course are blank backed.<BR>Also, I have never seen an m101-4 with the larger gap, not even the blank backs.<BR>I'm therefore curious to hear from those who collect these issues extensively.<BR>Todd

I'm focusing not on the borders of the cards, but on the inner distance between the photo and the "black box" that surrounds it. Both of your cards look "tight", but look at the space in the Kit Young auction vs. your cards and the ones offered by Gaynor.

Posted By: <b>fkw</b><p>Ive always thought all the wide gap cards were fakes, and all authentic cards will have the thin gap. The way to tell is look at the gap between the photo itself, and the thin pistripe line surrounding the picture. Fakes are at least 2-3 times wider in this area, and easily seen. I'll take a look at the auction I havent yet. Frank

I only own a handful from this issue (type cards) and all mine and everyone Ive seen lately have thin gaps. Todd your good, I see the Bender is reallly a M101-4 from 1916, and yet another PSA vintage card identification screw up. Frank

Posted By: <b>Andy Baran</b><p>All of the Authentic M101-5 cards that I own or have owned have smaller gaps. The black border line is also very thin, and not of uniform thickness. However, the color of the stock has varied between white, cream, tan, light brown, etc. There is another dealer on Ebay that is currently selling cards that I believe to be reprints. Maybe I give him too much credit, but I thought he and his staff were far more knowledgeable than the average e-bay seller and that therefore this one might be legit-- thus my question as to whether anyone owns an authentic "wide gap" m101-5 or m101-4. So far no takers.<BR>Regards..................Todd

Posted By: <b>leon</b><p>I got a chance to look at all of my m101/4 and /5's this weekend, with the different backs etc.... (Really pretty easy as they are stashed away in the igloo very nicely). All of them had very tight borders that are prevelant on good copies. So how did this Sisler turn out?, understanding most folks thought it was not good....regards all
