Posted By: jay behrens
You know youa re really good when you win by a penny. I pay close attention to the bidding paterns of other bidders and I can often auctions by a penny just by knowing my competitions bidding habits.

Here are some simple rules to never get beat by a penny:

Never bid in even dollar amounts, i.e. $10.00, $50.00, etc

Never bid in quarter dollar amounts, i.e. $xx.25 .50 ot .75

Never get cute with your bids, i.e. $12.34, $234.56, $11.11, $55.55. $45.46 etc

The best thing to do is hit the RND key on your calculator and use the first 2 digits for the cents in your bid.

Jay

Posted By: TBob
I appreciate the congratulations. Making it even more scarey was the fact Tomboy who had sniped and won almost all the other 207s bid $514.00, which would have beaten me, but ebay rejected his bid because the next possible bid on the card was $515.05. So not only did I win by a nickle, I also won by $1.05. Geez, it's about time....
Thanks also to the 8 collector buddies who immediately emailed me last night to congratulate me: John, Tim, Tom, Andy, Drew, Brian, Dave and Jerry. Thanks guys!
