Degree of Difficulty: American Beauty Backs
Posted By: Patrick McMenemy
Recently won a lot with a T206 Gabby Street with an American Beauty back without the frameline (350 Subjects.) I am curious as to whether that back is rarer than the American Beauty back with the frameline?

Thanks, Patrick

Degree of Difficulty: American Beauty Backs
Posted By: stutor
According to the t206museum, in the 350 series, the back with no frame is slightly harder to find than the back with the frame. I've personally never noticed a big difference, but there are others out there who would know better.

http://www.t206museum.com/page/ch_scbklt.html

Degree of Difficulty: American Beauty Backs
Posted By: Craig
For what it's worth, here is some data regarding the frequency of the different American Beauty backs in T206. Right now, I have 91 different fronts. Of those, 11 carry the 460 back, 16 have the 350 no frame and the remaining 64 carry the 350 with frame. Remember that the minor leaguers weren't produced in the 460 series, so there are no 460 backs in that group. Also, I have not seen a minor leaguer with the 350 no frame back. All of my minor league cards have the 350 with frame back. Since there are so many minor leaguers in T206, this could probably be a big part of the reason for the differences in frequency when it comes to American Beauty backs. Hope that helps.

Degree of Difficulty: American Beauty Backs
Posted By: Eric Angyal
In putting my back set together, I have also found that the 350 series with no border is way tougher than the 350 series with border (by at least a 3 or 4 to 1 ratio). Also, I have seen more 460 series backs than 350 series no border backs (probably a 2 to 1 or 1.5 to 1 ratio). Hope this helps. SCD is way off base on this multiplier.

Eric
