Cy Block Cards wanted
Posted By: petecld
Sorry for not putting this in the usual thread but this isn't for me.

A relative is looking for cards of Cy Block (Cubs, 1940s). The only ones known are the collector sets issued in 1976 & 1977 and I believe are referred to as the "1942 PlayBall"and "1943 Playball" sets.

If you have one or know someone willing to part with one please email me. If you have any other type of item with Cy Block I'd love to hear about it.

cy block cards wanted
to petecid,
i have a cy block baseball bat that i believe is game used. i was going to sell it on line. i saw your request concerning cy block items for his relatives. contact me if you have interest. don hart donhart49@hotmail.com |
As I'm sure the OP is aware, at least up until the late 1990's, Cy used to send out his own homemade card. The design resembled the 1985 Topps issue.

Eight years for a reply has to be some kind of Net54 record, right?

Well, 8 years and the response didn't even answer the quesion--good stuff!
Block is actually found in the V362 Big League Stars set made by World Wide Gum. He is #9. If a thread this old is gonna be resurrected it may as well have an answer in it!:D -Rhett |

Not to worry. Archive is a conglomerate. They have an entire staff devoted to internal lawsuits. Sort of like Coke v. Coke Zero. |
I have a cy block card in fair condition I would be willing to sell.

This thread reminds me of Haley's Comet.

Also, I now know the meaning of Rob D's post#5. Wouldn't have gotten that one if I had read this back in aught-10. |
Nice to see Jim VB back on the board.

Another quirky fact about this thread:
The somewhat delayed response to the OP was the one and only post ever left by that member. Maybe he's waiting eight years for a reply before posting again? What a remarkably patient guy. :) |
