Posted By: jay berhens
I was just going to post about this card too. I asked the seller to send me uncropped scans of the front and back. He claims the card is not trimmed, so this means he cropped the card heavily. Maybe to hide the fat boarders of a reprint?

Jay

Posted By: Bruce Moreland
I looked at his other auctions and it appears that he is not very good at using a scanner.

Just take the door off, throw it behind your desk and forget about it, line the card up straight, and leave some border. What could be easier?

bruce
Posted By: Dr.Koos
...like one of the known reprints. It appears to be scan of a PICTURE of a 14/15 CJ card. I just don't recognize the printing characteristics as being synonymous with any of the reprints I've seen, let alone a Vintage CJ.

Posted By: B. Hodes
I am not certain of this but aren't all of the Reprints of the CJs reprints of the 1915 cards (with the distinction made clear by the refrence to the 176 card set on the back)?

Also, isn't there the obvious question about why such an incredible card was not sent off to one of the 3 letter wonders (i.e. the grading companies)?

Anyway, I am beginning to feel like we are flogging a dead horse with the constant discussion of curious cards (most obviously the '52 Topps Mantle).

Well, at least this one is a questionable vintage card....

Be sure to include a chapter about trimming.

--------------------------------------------
no disclaimer - temporarily taking responsibility for my actions

Posted By: Dr.Koos
...for being subjected to him in this thread because of my post's appearance. Be thankful you can only SEE RumpScott! My PC is equipped with "Smell-o-Vision" and it's no picnic, believe me. His aroma would knock a buzzard off a manure wagon from 100 yards away!
