Rube Marquard Question
 

Posted By: <b>David&nbsp; </b><p>Does anyone know if Rube Marquard pitched for the 1928 Birmingham Barons (Southern Assocation). I know that he played for them in 1927 .... I have the 1928 Barons original team photo, and one of them looks an awful like Marquard (gandershank with sticky-out ears). thanks

Posted By: <b>john(z28jd)</b><p>rube marquard was a coach at Assumption college in 1928,along with Jesse Burkett,it was the only time a college had 2 hall of famers on its staff at one time. He could have been with the team for the pictures but he didnt play for them that year

Posted By: <b>David</b><p>When I got to work today and looked at it again, the player doesn't look so much like Marquard anymore. At least not as much as when I was contiplating how much his appearance in the photo would raise the sell price.
