Interesting eBay Auction

Posted By: MW
Jverri01 -- why are you selling a reprinted 1933 Goudey Ruth & Gehrig as originals? These reprints are so bad that the ink on the reverse side is even the wrong color. If you posted the wrong cards accidentally, you might want to change the images or think about ending your auction.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MfcISAPICommand=ViewItem&item=183409 9425+

Posted By: jverri01
I hadn't even looked closely at these. I admit my error outright. Five minutes after listing them (give or take an hour) I pulled the listing. I do want to thank everyone who acted as my eyes and notified me they were reprints. I had listed them in a hurry, never looked at the backs very closely. I have already returned them to the auction house I bought them from.

Regards...
James

Posted By: harry
If you did indeed purchased these cards from an auction house, then let's hear who it is. There is no way that a legitimate auction house would ever sell these as originals. And if they would, you need to help us out and identify them. These reprints are not even close to looking like originals.

Posted By: Ryan Christoff
Have to agree with Jay, Harry and Jaime. Also, I'd like to know the lot number and date of auction so we can all look the cards up, seeing as how collectively this board probably has every major auction house catalog dating back at least 10 years.

Thanks,

-Ryan

Posted By: jverri01

Again - you are mocking me, not even really giving me the benefit of the doubt. As though I were "pretending" I bought these from an auction house.

They were purchased from Chesepaeke Auctions, Maryland. www.chesepeakeauctions.com They were in the Friday, May 24th auction. I paid $1,375.00 for the two cards.
