Posted By: David
Is that supposed to be a 2001 Space Odyssey thing? Otherwise, I'll take a stress pill.

Posted By: runscott
I was hanging out along the "other" coast - Savannah to Wilmington. No card finds in the antique stores, but I did pick up four of those Edison "tube" records cheap...don't ask why

Posted By: Julie Vognar
Those early tube records aren't all as old as you think. In the 1940s, psychologists used to use them instead of taking notes. I guess she (he) would have to read into the machine right after the session, while it was still fresh on her (his) mind. Were child psycholgists interesting? GOD, no. They all made sure they treated you like an adult. YAWN.

I said "after the session," because I don't remember anything about the machine (of course, I was a 8-year-old expert) that would make it capable of picking up general sound in the room. But since they were originally used for records, there must have been something that probably escaped my attention.
