What is the best starting 9 you can put together with one last name.

Robinson?
Williams?
Martinez?
Who else you got?

Good call, I never even thought of him. So catcher improves to 7.9 which brings the team to over 400!

What about first name? I would think George would be impossible to beat.

OK I'll bite. Obviously George Ruth gives a massive leg up but after him all I think of for major stars is Brett and Sisler (and Kell, but Brett's already got third) we can have guys like Scott, Foster and Springer in the OF, and don't get me wrong we're racking up war at an amazing rate, but I feel like you had other big names in mind.

Tom Seaver's real first name was George.
George Davis, HOF ss
Junior Griffey's real first name is George as well.

We could have fun with guys named Larry who never went by Larry. Berra and Jones. If you take regular Larry's you can add Walker, Doby and Hisle for a good outfield, Bowa at short, Doyle at 2b, Dierker or Gura pitching (without looking it up I imagine they're super close) so I need a 1b, there's gotta be someone I'm not thinking of.

Funny I was just thinking a variation of William team would be good.

Willie Davis might make the team with his over 60 WAR. No room for Stargell with Terry on the team. Ditto Keeler and Wilson and McGee

NICE so our non-Larry Larry team has Yogi, Chipper and Nap. Pretty impressive!

You could put Larry Doby in center on your regular Larry list.

Larry was only a nickname for Lajoie not part of his real name which was just Napoleon, I believe.:eek:
