1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle Reprint being sold as real - Ebay doesn't care
1 Attachment(s)
I know this has been brought up many times, and this will be my last about this topic, but it just kills me that Ebay doesn't care, even when you can provide them solid proof.
This seller sold this reprint 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle for $5,400 and it obviously didn't work out, so he relisted it again. I reported his first auction to ebay, but they did nothing. I provided the seller proof that it was a reprint during his first auction, but of course, he denied it. As most do, he thinks he's covering himself by saying "I HAVE DONE AS MUCH RESEARCH AS I CAN AND DO NOT KNOW IF IT IS GENUINE OR NOT." This is his current aucton: https://www.ebay.com/itm/389195642670 There are many experts out here that try to report things like this to Ebay, but they just don't care. I realize Ebay authentication will catch this kind of stuff (I assume), but why not just shut down the auctions immediately. Does anyone have a direct email to Ebay, so I can forward them the pics, so maybe they will shut it down? Ok, I'm out! Thanks! |
eBay does not care about taking down fakes, they ignore any evidence no matter how clear. I've given up reporting even the scammers that have been defrauding people for years as they just ignore the reports every time

I reported it and mentioned that the last line mentioned dubious authenticity. That’s not allowed. But initially their automation didn’t remove it and I got a notification of that first (bottom image). https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4468f4a910.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7fb4c094a7.jpg |

I'm not sure what's going on with eBay these days concerning listing violations like this. Perhaps they think they've done enough already by subjecting expensive listings to further scrutiny through the authentication process. They used to have a violation report option available on every listing, and it seems like they were thankful for the eBay community at large helping to keep eBay safer for everyone. But maybe now they are tired of using their resources to respond to such reports.
