As for my collecting, it is just getting the upper hand on a yet to be decided minor skirmish. It has been 2-1/2 years since I added a T206 to my collection. But the card does come with a bonus...the back is even nicer than the front. Brian |

Nice Victory Phil. Those are so tough.
Hopefully this won't be stuck in the PSA authenitcation system for too long. Some tape residue on the back. But the front more than makes up for it to me. |
November Pick Up Thread
A pretty Evers Cubs. One of the nicer ones I’ve seen. Overpaid but worth it.

These arrived yesterday……I love these 1949 Leaf Premiums, hard to believe they were placed in the bottom of the pack boxes at the store. Last pack customer supposedly got the premium….hopefully they still knew who John McGraw was. And speaking of McGraw, finally snagged a Wee Willie Keeler, just need the portrait. And I love the backs of these Topps Game card.

A BIG THANK YOU to Dan’s Vintage Baseball PC

I’m not a ticket collector per se, I do have a program and ticket for the 1954 World Series at the Polo Grounds for my beloved Giants, but the other day , I was watching Dan’s Vintage Baseball PC on you tube and a recently acquired item he got peaked my interest. It was the post mortem on the recent Shriner’s Show back east. Having watched ( and enjoyed) several of Dan’s presentations , I have learned he is a Boston Braves collector like myself. Not sure of his direction on it , but I know he collects that team . He was showing a recently acquired 1948 World Series ticket - Game 4, significant as during this game Larry Doby became the first African American to hit a home run in World Series history. As I am a collector of 1948 Braves ( Inc pennants, photos, programs in addition to cards), I immediately searched for a game 4 ticket. Found one on eBay, the seller accepted my offer and it arrived today. So thank you Dan for motivating me to get this significant ticket in baseball history.

Awesome pick up Phil. Such a tough and cool back.
Some real nice items so far, and diverse - I love seeing two cool tickets show up in the thread as well, congrats. We have some awesome photos too, plus game pieces and premiums. Seems folks are branching out somewhat from cards. |

Beautiful Items So Far This Month!
An assortment of beautiful items thus far this month all!!!! I love to see quality pickups in all sorts of price ranges and conditions because it shows that no matter what the prices, conditions, and rarities of the items are, they can be treasured by each collector in their own way! That's what collecting is about.
But I do have to say that Phil's Victory back and Geoff's Evers with the Blue background absolutely stand out to me! Tim Kindler |

Big mail day today, finally got my Heritage haul from awhile back of a 5 lot of 1949 Leaf SP.The colors on those Leaf cards are unreal.
Even bought a few Ohtani nostalgia themed cards….this is the first one that has arrived. Continuing to build the Warren Spahn PC, another amazing veteran and ball player…..if you haven’t checked out his service record…do so….nothing short of amazing. |

Today my 9th Short Print Leaf arrived and one Ive been hoping to get it. Not just another Leaf , but another addition to my Boston Braves PC. If you have ever seen a centered version of this card, please post it as Ive never seen one . Every one Ive found while hunting looks like this one. Very happy to add Tommy Holmes to the dugout , centered or not!

puckpaul Cool. I thought about doing the same, more than a few have been up for sale lately. But i havent. I have two of them. Cool set. Though they look a bit like 70’s topps photoshopped cards with a small head on a big shouldered uniform picture! Lol I've noticed that in the past. Gibson has a relatively proportional noggin. But most of the others in the grouping seem on the small side, with Campbell and Camnitz having ridiculously small pinheads. Brian |
