Final out ball from the 2025 NLCS

Did anybody else notice that after Andy Pages caught the final out in the 2025 NLCS last night...

...he tossed the ball into the stands?

Wonder if whoever came up with the ball realized what they had. Also wonder if the Dodgers realized what happened and tried to get the ball back.

Maybe I'm missing something, but what would be so special about that particular ball?

doug.goodman 10-18-2025 05:29 PM

Um, it's the final out of the NLCS.

And of the "Ohtani Game".

Random foul balls for Thursday night A's games in June have buyers.

And I had the same thought as you did as he threw it in the crowd Gary.

I did notice that and was a little surprised. Especially since last outs of innings aren't being thrown into the stands like they are in the regular season. If there aren't any markings on the ball I'm assuming it's just a ball now.

I know the significance of Ohtani's performance in the game but I figured a ball he didn't even touch wouldn't be that sought after.

I'm not a ball collector - what would a " final out of an NLCS" ball go for, typically?

calvindog 10-18-2025 05:55 PM

I was shocked he did it as well. The last out of the Ohtani Game (as it will be forever known now) has to be worth 25-50K if sold quickly. In a few years? Less.

Always about the green backs..

Yeah, I think it's kind of cool that Pages just absent-mindedly tossed the ball into the stands. There is something annoying about how all the balls get stickered on the spot. I know that all of us fans are basically cannon fodder for Fanatics, but it's nice to suspend disbelief and pretend otherwise now and again!

On a somewhat related note, every time they say his name I do a double take. “Did they just call him Pot Head?” 🤣

Andy Pot Head. Sounds like a comic strip character.

Played by Bob Denver in the mid 60's movie adaptation...

I agree that it isn't that special. If Ohtani pitched a complete game then that's a different story, but this was just a ball thrown by one of the Dodger relievers. An Ohtani HR ball from the game, a ball that he threw--those are special to a Dodger fan.

I dunno, I’d like to own the last out from the pennant winning game…unless they lose the Series.

Bobby i love ya but Your kidding right you have to be lol…it will go to goldin and some guy will pay 150 k lol …

Don't they commonly refer to the last out ball as the "game ball"?

There could be significance to people that collect those things.

D. Bergin 10-19-2025 09:56 AM

I think it's a significant ball, but I'm glad he threw it in the stands. I'm sure the Fanatics rep at the game (or whoever's in charge of keeping track of these type of tchotchkes nowadays) threw an absolute shit fit, the second they saw that happen.

:D

150k, just because it's the last out of the series? That's a lot. I'd rather have one Ohtani's HR or strikeout balls from the game. (But maybe those would go for even more?)
