What does everybody do after eBay authentication process for higher value cards?
 

Do you set the card free? Or leave it in the card saver with sticker on? I’ve been leaving it in the card saver, just encase I runaway and don’t come back :), I think it would be easier to resell with the verification sticker on it.

If you enjoy the card like that, then giddyup...enjoy. Most people who buy a card to collect probably don't enjoy that presentation very much or at all.

It’s not clear to me that you gain anything by leaving it in there.

Maybe you could resell it offline and someone would care? Although that seems like a stretch. And if you go to resell it through eBay, I don’t think you could skip the authenticity guarantee process simply because you still have it in the bag from last time.

So I’m not sure that I see the point, particularly because I don’t like another layer of plastic.

Your definitely going to have to get it reverified again if you sell it…..I was thinking if one passes or thinking about getting rid of there collection, it might be better to leave in the savers. I have 3 cards that i received recently that finished off 64 (rose) and 68 (mantle) topps sets and now this mantle for 66.

I keep my sets in 1600 count boxes with penny sleeves and tops loaders (any card over 20.00 gets one), if I pick up a graded card for the set, than I just lay them down in the box, so this wouldn’t brother me to much……I was just thinking down the road…..if it’s better or not

The point of verification is to make sure you are getting the card you paid for and not some counterfeit. Once it reaches you safely, the utility of the container is at an end. Just like a candy bar wrapper. No reason not to remove it from the wrapper so you can enjoy it.

That card is being set free. Only reason I am buying it is to add it to my set. I have already released a couple.

Well it sure doesn't increase the value by taking it out of the packet.

I have a couple authenticated cards I got from Greg Morris that I might sell. The packet adds to the provenance I think.

I generally leave it with packaging and auth sticker for no real reason. However I have liberated a few so I can get better scans.

I remove the card and insert it into my set, which I keep in binders. Yes, I keep them in binders so I can enjoy going through them from time to time and admire them.

If the card is graded and goes into my master set, I take a picture of the graded card and insert that into the slot in the set.

With that said, whomever owns the card should do with them whatever they desire. If it's for flipping for a few bucks, maybe keep the packaging but I don't think it enhances the value. If it's for set completion, maybe just add it to the set and throw the other meaningless stuff away.

yea, Ive seen guys take it out, but keep the sticker / holder " nearby " ..not sure it helps anything
