Anyone collect Rock and Roll photos?

Lately, I have been buying more and more R&R photos. They seem pretty under-appreciated at the moment. I picked up a number of Type 1s. I am wondering about getting them authenticated. I was initially against entombing them like cards, because I like to handle my photos, but lately I've had a change of heart. What do you guys think? What do you guys think of snapshots? My preference is for 8x10s, but I also like snapshots these days.

Here are a few recent and not-so-recent acquisitions, including one from a bigger group of iconic Dylan 1965 studio sessions. How can you not like a little Dylan, Sid Vicious, Velvet Underground, and Nirvana? All 8x10 except for the Cobain snapshot (sorry for the size).

I collect my own photos. Many which can be seen in this thread:

Nice ones, Peter. I love the one of Janis. That one was from the movie, right?
Do you keep them loose or slab them in general?

Not sure on Janis, I thought when I bought it out of RMY it was called a studio picture. I store them in notebooks in heavy duty sheets.

Awesome Johnny Cash photo. Love the snapshots these days.

For me, the past couple of years, photos have been a very inexpensive way to add collectibles of famous people who don't have contemporary cards -- musicians and singers, especially classical, movie stars, announcers, and other celebrities.

That’s a legitimate 1 of 1

Loved all the photos. The Dylan photo is killer. Since I'm from Arkansas I have always loved Johnny Cash - and who doesn't.

Pictured is Johnny Cash membership card from 1961, signed not only by Johnny but also by his close friend Pat Isom. Isom formed the fan club in 1959, and operated it out of his home. By the early 60s it was so large that Johnny hired a management company to take care of it. I've done a lot of research and simply can't find an earlier example than mine.

Enjoy and keep the photos coming.

Jim, that signed Johnny Cash photo is amazing! I'm envious.....

The Ox–John Entwistle of the Who. Greatest bass guitarist of all time!

Indeed.
1989, Oakland Coliseum, The Who gave a memorable performance, with a bunch of songs from Tommy and an amazing rendition of "Boris the Spider" by Entwistle. But nothing can beat his tune, "My Wife."

And an unforgettable encore with "Hey Joe."

Oh, those were the days!

....Also saw him at the Oakland Coliseum around the same time.

Well, you could argue James Jamerson, McCartney, John Paul Jones.
