1911- 1914 (D304) Brunners, Blank Back

Interesting new pick up. My guess is either from an ad cut or scrap. It could be skinned, but is very smooth on the back. Thoughts?

sure looks hand cut... are advertisement pieces known? maybe scrap from ink fingerprint and muted colors.

Why is the "S" backard on his jersey, just like on Cy Young's card?

Never noticed that before. No idea...

Since I don't know of any ad posters, or have seen other cards like the one shown, I am going with blank backed D304, scrap.

Paul, I've been asking this question for years. My best guess to date is since the cards were made for NY/NJ bakeries the artist took a little dig at Boston, but who knows?

Cool piece, Leon.
