My Dollar Box Find ('67 Bolin White Streak)
 

Didn't even know for sure I had the right variation but took a chance for a dollar. Sure enough the white streak is what I wanted and I got it. Still not sure what it's worth in VG-VGEX but I think at least $20.

Anyone else have a find like this?

I had really good luck at a garage sale…..the kids were getting rid of there fathers old baseball cards, they had a box labeled 50-60’s that they were selling for 30.00 bucks…..It was sealed and had around 300-400 cards the kids said…..I thought about it and said ok…why not for 30.00 bucks….worst case damaged dinged up commons. I went to a couple more yard sales that day than got some lunch while I was out. I totally forgot about the cards. The next day I went through them and found 52-54 topps mostly. 6 mantles total. There were 2 each of 52,53 and 54…..and not bad condition maybe 4 to 5 range. I was thinking they were reprints at first…..the longer I stared at them got me thinking could they be real? WOW what if they where? I took them to my local card store and the owner was looking them over with his loop…..he said all are real cards…..I couldn’t believe it…..jackpot…..only 30.00 for the mantles. I was in shock just complete shock….then I woke up and it was just a dream but I’m still looking for that house with cards in the attic!!!

I've had several through the years, but one that stands out is a find at my local card shop a couple of years ago. Same set, 1967 Topps, digging through their commons. Randomly found #561 Sandy Alomar in EX+ shape. I did point it out to the shop owner that this card is a high number and worth quite a bit more than a dollar...he simply said, hey, enjoy the find. A week prior I had spent quite a bit so it was a nice Thank You...now every time I scan through the note book I smile when I see ol' Sandy...

Nice find. I check out a LOT of small oddball sites that sell cards multiple times a day. I have no idea of number of cards but I have found easily over 30 cards that sell in the $500-$2500 range for $5-$10 each. I specialize in a couple cards from one set. If you own any silly rare cards from that set there is a very good chance you bought at least one from me or someone that bought it/them from me.
