1956-65 Kahn's Wieners Frank Robinson
A quick search didn't produce much beyond some good info on the 1958 set (including that they are hard to find, except for Frank Robinson), so I am starting this thread. I recently filled the last hole in a 10-card, 1956-65 run of Kahn's Wieners Frank Robinson. That has me both eager to showoff the run snd curious if 10 is the record and which other players have long runs. Anybody collect a player with more Kahn's Wieners than Frank?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0918d3e9d2.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6a12a4d59c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7594b3bd2d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...546d6f57d7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...16ef71bb40.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a3fab542b3.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9b46e6c771.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...bdb860d3f1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4cf3a8ec40.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7a01d7e981.jpg

Congratulations! I really like the Kahn's cards, and I've been trying to find as many different as possible of both Frank Robinson and Vada Pinson. I was lucky enough to pick up the '56 Frank Robinson for a song — it was listed on eBay as a "Frank Robinson photo." I never realized that the 1961 and 1962 cards of Frank have the same photo. It's too bad the Reds traded Frank — it would have been great to see 1967-69 Kahn's cards of him.

Joe Nuxhall also had 10 Kahn’s cards - but not consecutively.
The Ol’ Lefthander appeared in the 1955-1960 and 1963-1966 sets. At first I could not figure out why he wasn’t in the 1961 and 1962 sets. Then I learned something I did not know. Nuxhall pitched for the A’s in 1961 and the Angels in 1962 before signing back with the Reds in 1962 after being released. I had no idea he didn’t spend his entire career with the Reds! |
