Dog food

Do you guys buy your dog dog food, give him steak, chicken turkey or do one of those subscriptions like farm fresh?

Dry regular old dog food in big bags. But every thread needs a card like Leon says.

I have an old dog so now he gets Blue Mountain Senior Chicken and Brown Rice Recipe dry/bag dog food. The majority of his life he ate Pedigree brand dry dog food.

We had to stop giving him the table scraps and other treats he loved because they started to bother his stomach when he got old and give him horrible farts.

I currently have 5 dogs and 2 rescues. I buy about 200lbs of dog food every 3 weeks and mix it with a few tablespoons of wet food each, to give it a little better taste for them.

Its a combination here storebought dry for morning and for dinner time, my wife makes homemade dog food which is cheaper than store bought and mail order for our Rescue Beagle-Miniature Schnauzer mix and Milk Bones as a treat

Acana kibble with a mix of either raw beef or dehydrated beef

Add in a mix of various medicines and supplements since all 3 of our dogs are basically seniors.

A small amount of leftovers will sometimes get mixed in if we deem them healthy enough for them.

Purina One Plus "Healthy Weight" dry food. It's a kibble + dehydrated turkey chunks food mix. It contains soy if that's an issue for your dog (sometimes allergen).

WSAVA guideline created food for less $$ and better grocery/boxstore availability than similar kibble. Dog has no allergies, so no need for anything more specialized.

She's an active, 4 year old whippet and does very well with her periodic vet checkups (bloodwork, physical exam, etc) eating this food for the past 2 years.

He ran off Purina products for twelve years. The exact one varied depending on what his vet recommended.

I use regular dry mixed with some moist for the four of my dogs.

We do share our food while we are eating so they do get some pasta, pizza, steak, and sometimes we get them McDonalds burgers (minus the onions).

And I think their favorite each morning is getting some of my oatmeal. I have oatmeal about six times a week and share it with them. They really love it! The small dog cries and whines when she sees me dishing it out. She does not do that for any other food.

A dog is truly a man's best friend.

I have two rescues:

My old Dog Buddy, gets a mix of dry and wet kidney-care Hills Science Diet.

My youngster, Holly, will eat ANYTHING, but gets Hill's perfect weight dry.

Buddy will turn 15 in January, Holly 6 in August.
