Looking for info on Mecca Golf, Billiards, etc. cards
 

I just picked up a new interesting, but so far very unknown to me collection of cards put out by the Mecca cigarette company.

I’m just startibg to research, organize, scan, etc. and wanted to reach out to this comminuty to ask if anyone here can offer insights about these cards, their collectability, value, etc.

I’m not sure I have seen these posted here - or maybe they have and I just haven’t noticed

I appreciate hearing from anyone with collector and/or dealer experience with these.

Hey Jeff - the majority of the cards you have posted there are from the T218 set. We have many threads over the years about them in other sections on the board. Very collectible 153 card set, highlighted by the boxers (esp. two Jack Johnson cards), but also golfers and other athletes. They typically come with Mecca and Hassan backs, but 50 of the cards also have Tolstoi backs. Commons in VG can be found cheap ($5-$10 or sometimes even less), but Tolstoi backs will go much higher.

You also have a T225 boxer and two T220 cards (the ones with the writing on the bottom).

Search the "All Other Cards" tab for these sets and you should find tons of info. Happy to answer any other questions esp. on the T218 set, which has long been a favorite of mine!
