1992 Topps Gold
I know that the cards received by collecting 100 runs in the Match the Stats game were labeled with the dreaded 'Winner' mark.
The complete set awarded as one of the prizes - this was the regular Gold cards correct? And the other prizes - the 100, 50 and 10 count boxes - were these "Winners" or the regular? Thanks |
Regular gold cards were inserted into packs, and in complete sets, I believe.
All of the redemption cards were for Winners AFAIK. And since you could use a flashlight and see the winning values, Topps had to produce way more than they expected just based on odds. |
Thanks - quick follow up:
Factory sets contained 10 gold cards - regular or winners??? |

Last question - promise!
Did Topps only add the "Winner" thing AFTER they realized the issue? In other words, did the first people to send in 100 runs received packs of regular Gold cards? Thanks! |

Also, I have found several sealed 10-card cello packs of non-winner gold cards over the year so it seems that they were not too rare. |
